Leasing & Land Development

The Jacksonville Aviation Authority (“JAA”) owns and manages over 17,400 acres of land containing approximately 4.7 million square feet of facilities. In addition to those assets necessary to directly support the air service needs of Northeast Florida, JAA also offers a variety of commercial leasing and land development opportunities to support the business community of Jacksonville. The Authority’s four airport system includes:

Jacksonville International Airport (JAX)

Located in north Jacksonville, JAX is situated near the intersection of I-295 and I-95 and is within a 15 minute drive of the Port of Jacksonville and I-10 West. Existing facilities for lease include hangar, air cargo, flex warehouse/distribution, office and support space. JAX also offers over 1,000 acres of land for aeronautical development and over 3,000 acres for other commercial development.

Cecil Airport (VQQ)

Both an airport and a licensed horizontal launch spaceport, Cecil primarily supports maintenance, repair and overhaul (MRO) activities for both civilian and military aircraft in addition to serving as a base of operations for several branches of our armed forces and a variety of corporate aircraft. As part of the larger Cecil Commerce Center, the airport has excellent connectivity to several multimodal transportation links. Cecil offers a variety of existing hangar, warehouse, office and support facilities for lease in addition to over 1,200 acres of land available for development; including one of the few aviation megasites within the United States (consisting of up to 400 acres of development land with airside access).

JAXEX - Jacksonville Executive at Craig Airport (CRG)
Centrally located between downtown Jacksonville and the beach, JAXEX is ideally situated for both corporate aviation, charter and flight training activities. With two fixed base operators (“FBO”) providing services and facilities to support a variety of general aviation activities (Jacksonville Executive Jet Center and Sky Harbor Aviation), the airport also offers an 18-hole Arnold Palmer designed golf course (Blue Sky Golf Club). Several hangar and office facilities are available for lease with JAA directly in addition to over 150 acres of both aeronautical and commercial development land available.

Herlong Recreational Airport (HEG)
Herlong is Northeast Florida’s primary location for recreational flying including skydiving, gliders, and other experimental aircraft. Located southwest of downtown Jacksonville, Herlong is an ideal home for the aviation enthusiast. Serving as a base to several flight training operations and a variety of aircraft, Herlong offers traditional general aviation facilities through First Coast Flight Center, the airport’s FBO, which provides T-hangar, bulk hangar, tie-down and office space. Larger hangar and commercial space is also available for lease. Additionally, Herlong has over 250 acres of land available for future development.

The Authority welcomes participation by real estate brokerage firms and site consultants in the leasing of non-aviation land in accordance with the JAA Broker Compensation Policy.
