Accessibility Services at Jacksonville International Airport (JAX)

JAX is committed to ensuring all passengers have a pleasant experience during their transition through the airport. From the parking facilities, to the gate and back, we strive to provide services that make travel easier for our customers with disabilities.

ADA Grievance Procedure and Form, Reasonable Accomodation/Modification Request

In accordance with Title II of the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) of 1990, it is the intention of the Jacksonville Aviation Authority (JAA) to provide access to all public facilities, programs and services associated with its operation of Jacksonville International Airport (JAX) to all persons with disabilities.

Pre-Flight Preparations

As with all passengers, a smooth travel experience begins before coming to the airport. 

It starts when booking your flight. 
Let the airline know what special help you may need; such as assistance unloading at the departure curb, wheelchair assistance to your departure gate, wheelchair assistance at your destination, or checking bags.

Please contact your airline in advance if you are not a passenger, but need to assist a small child or person with disabilities to their departure gate.

Another great resource is TSA Cares. By either going to the TSA website, or calling their hotline, 1-855-787-2227, at least 72 hours before your flight, a TSA Passenger Support Specialist will meet you at the security checkpoint and accompany you through the screening. They will answer any questions and address any concerns you may have with the security process.

Parking Accommodations

Accessible parking spaces are located on all levels near the elevators in both the Hourly Garage and Daily Garage.

In the Daily Surface Lot, accessible parking spaces are located near the Daily Garage.

Economy Parking Lots 1 and 2 have accessible parking spaces near the bus stops.

If you need special assistance, please call the parking office at 904.741.2277.

*Only vehicles displaying appropriate handicap window tag or license plate may utilize these spaces. Vehicles not displaying a legal handicapped tag or plate are subject to fines.

Discounts: There are no discounts or reduced rates for disabled parking at JAX except for those who qualify as outlined in Florida Statute 316.1964.

Is Someone Meeting You?

If a friend, family member or business associate is meeting you upon your arrival at JAX, they will not be permitted to wait in their car at the arrivals curb. We recommend that the driver use JAX’s Courtesy Waiting Cell Phone Lot, located adjacent to the JAA Administration Building at 14201 Pecan Park Road. There the driver can comfortably wait for your call when you have all your luggage and are at the arrivals curb. The lot is about a two minute drive to the terminal.

Accessible Services

Public Drinking Fountains - Accessible fountains are adjacent to all restrooms.

Public Restrooms – All public restrooms accommodate the disabled.

Public Family Restrooms – Accessible Family Restrooms are located in Baggage Claim and on both Concourse A and C.

Pet Relief Areas – An outdoor pet relief area is located outside Baggage Claim near bag belt 8. An indoor pet relief area is located post-security near the Food Court.
