Sealed bids will be received by the Jacksonville Aviation Authority Administration Building, 14201 Pecan Park Road, Jacksonville, Florida 32218 until 2:00 PM July 26, 2012 at which time they shall be opened in the JAA 2nd Floor Conference Room, 14201 Pecan Park Road, Jacksonville, Florida 32218, for:

 

Security Fence Relocation

 

This project includes the removal of the existing 10’ high wildlife fence and replace it with new security fencing with wildlife deterrent details.  The project also includes removing existing 6’ high security fencing and replacing it with 8’ high security fencing and installing new slide gates.

 

There will be a Pre-Bid Conference held at Jacksonville Aviation Authority Administration Building, 14201 Pecan Park Road, Jacksonville, Florida 32218, at 2:00 PM July 12, 2012.  A MANDATORY SITE VISIT will be held immediately following the Pre-Bid Meeting.  All prospective bidders must meet at the Jacksonville Aviation Authority Administration Building, 14201 Pecan Park Road, Jacksonville, Florida 32218 be signed in and perform the site visit to be deemed eligible to bid this project.  This will be the ONLY opportunity for prospective bidders to perform the MANDATORY SITE VISIT.

 

Bid security in the amount of five percent (5%) of the base bid will be required to accompany bids.  Contract Bonding shall also be required.  The Owner reserves the right to reject any or all bids and to waive irregularities in bidding.   The Authority has determined that twelve percent (12%) DBE participation goal will be prescribed for this project.  As a good corporate citizen JAA fully supports the usage of DBE on JAA projects.  We encourage our business partners to maximize the utilization of DBEs at every opportunity.

 

This project will be bid as a single contract.  Bid prices may be held for up to 120 days. All bids must be submitted in accordance with the Project Manual for JAA Contract C-777 which may be examined in the Jacksonville Aviation Authority Administration Building Office, or obtained from:

It is the sole responsibility of each prospective bidder to assure that the Office of the Manager, Engineering & Construction, is kept informed of his or her current mailing address, telephone number and fax number.

 

Complete sets of drawings and specifications on CD may be acquired from JACOBS at the above address or may be shipped to the Contractors at cost for mailing or overnight shipping, 3:00 PM June 27, 2012.  Partial sets of drawings and specifications will not be issued.  The shipping cost for the contract documents is not refundable.
