Safety & Security

Airport Security

Cecil Airport takes a proactive approach to aviation security with an airport watch program, security training and access control measures. Its focus is to encourage voluntary reporting of safety issues and events that come to the attention of employees and pilots. In addition, a security consortium made up of tenants and stakeholders was created to address security issues.

In May 2004, the Transportation Security Administration (TSA) published “Security Guidelines for General Aviation Airports” as a tool to develop security guidelines at individual general aviation airports. Please visit the TSA website to view the comprehensive plan.

Cecil also utilizes the Aircraft Owners & Pilots Association’s (AOPA) airport watch program. Click here for more information.
